MONO.LOGUES holds the group show “UNLOGICAL 02” with works of Hayato Tobayama, Mai Yokoyama and Sal from October 1 to October 25.
The series of “UNLOGICAL” does not put importance on the commonality of artists’ thoughts and works, but rather focuses on three artists who have different way of expressions and concepts for work, and who don’t know one to another.
We pursue how the “UNLOGICAL 02” have a dialogue with the viewers following by the first show “UNLOGICAL” held in this July.

Hayato Tobayama
Born in 2001
2021 3rd grade in the department of Painting, Oil Painting Course, Tama Art University
He produces paintings of abstract images mainly.
By drawing, he repeatedly pursues a figure which emerges and hides.

Mai Yokoyama
Painter born in Kanagawa, 1989.
She completed Ph.D.in Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts in 2018, majoring in the field of art/oil painting (print maiking).
She produces oil paintings based on a digital sketch using iPad’s drawing app but the motif of her work is quite analogue such as ancient statues. In this age where it is very easy to reproduce the copy work of art such as elaborate replica or visual image on the web, which one may misunderstand it is real, she pursues what is the genuine.
Her major exhibitions include: “E-CUS project Daikanyama underground Food court #02 MAI YOKOYAMA” (2019, solo, Daikanyama underground Food court, Tokyo), “appearing of visual line” (2021, group show, HARMAS GALLERY, Tokyo).In 2021, she was awarded FACE 2021 Jury Special Award Prize at "FACE 2021 Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Art Award".
